This is part of the “Musicians Dice” series of paintings. Paint colors are assigned a musical note and then the dice are rolled onto the back of the canvas. Wherever the dice land a small dab of that notes color gets added to the canvas. The paint is then stippled with a large brush to blend into one another. The name of the painting is derived from the notes (see photo below) and once the painting is completed the artist will use the notes to create an improvised musical piece.
